About Gyre Academy

GYRE Academy is committed to developing unique artisan skills in carpentry, woodwork, plumbing, building, welding, and electrical housing for young people from all backgrounds. In addition, the Academy offers entrepreneurial courses to ensure learners can establish companies that utilise these skills to collaborate in the workforce. This approach, accredited by QCTO in various SETAs, is about skills development, creating jobs, and fostering economic growth.

The qualifications that learners will obtain will incorporate 30 per cent learning in the classroom and 70 per cent learning at the workplace. GYRE Academy will produce learners with occupational qualifications ready to work as artisans and entrepreneurs, addressing societal problems and creating job opportunities for others, contributing immensely to the economy.

In summary, the GYRE Academy aims to position young people to gain artisan skills using SAQA and QCTO accreditation. It organises the learners to work as groups that combine the gained skills to establish companies and link the skills with funding agencies to acquire the required capital, including work materials, to create employment and become active participants in economic growth.

We also aim to develop leadership to create sustainable job opportunities for the rare skills required in the economy, thereby reducing youth unemployment through industrial development.
